<h3 class="smt_head2">3 [Dividend Policy]</h3>We believe it is important to continue stable dividend payments by improving profitability and strengthening our financial position. Regarding dividend payments from retained earnings, our basic approach is to pay dividends in response to earnings performance with a target consolidated payout ratio of 45% or higher, taking into account cash flow conditions and internal reserves.We also view the acquisition of treasury stock as an effective means of returning profits to shareholders, and will respond appropriately while considering stock price trends and financial conditions.Our basic policy is to pay dividends twice per fiscal year—interim and year-end dividends. The Board of Directors is the decision-making body for these dividend payments.<p class="smt_text3" style="orphans:0;widows:0;text-align:justify;padding-left:18pt;padding-right:0pt;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-indent:9pt;font-family:'ＭＳ 明朝';letter-spacing:0pt;line-height:15pt;">For the current fiscal year, based on the above policy, the year-end dividend per share is set at 40 yen.Retained earnings will be invested in developing professional talent, research and development of advanced technologies from a medium- to long-term perspective, improving production and quality capabilities, and infrastructure development to facilitate business operations. We will continue to strengthen our overall corporate capabilities and group business foundation for sustained growth.Our Articles of Incorporation provide that "matters concerning dividend payments and other items specified in Article 459, Paragraph 1 of the Companies Act shall be determined by Board of Directors resolution, except where otherwise provided by law." (Note) Dividend payments with record dates in the current fiscal year are as follows.
