Business Overview

Nichicon operates primarily through two business segments. In the Capacitor Business, the company manufactures and sells aluminum electrolytic capacitors, small lithium-ion secondary batteries, film capacitors for power electronics, film capacitors for xEV applications, and transformers. These products are manufactured by production subsidiaries including Nichicon Foil and Nichicon Ohno.

In the NECST Business, Nichicon manufactures and sells residential energy storage systems, V2H systems, EV/PHV fast chargers, switching power supplies, functional modules, public and industrial energy storage systems, large-scale specialized power supplies, medical and academic accelerator power supplies, and pressure sensors. These products are manufactured by production subsidiaries including Nichicon Kusatsu and Nichicon Kameyama.

Nichicon's products are supplied to markets through numerous sales companies both domestically and internationally. Major sales subsidiaries include Nichicon (America) Corporation, Nichicon (Austria) GmbH, and Nichicon (Hong Kong) Limited. This global distribution network enables Nichicon to maintain competitive strength in international markets.

Management Policy

Nichicon has established "Vision 2025" as its growth strategy, aiming for sustained growth in sales and operating profit margin. Based on this plan, the company is working to improve ROE and ROIC, enhance PBR, and maximize corporate value. In particular, Nichicon is advancing a transformation from "making products" to "creating solutions," pursuing top-tier performance across quality, cost, delivery, service, and technology.

Nichicon focuses on its capacitor business and NECST business, with four priority markets: energy, environment, and medical devices; automotive-related equipment; white goods; and information and communications equipment. The company is also focusing on expanding existing businesses and creating new ones.

To realize a low-carbon society, Nichicon leverages its technological capabilities in the capacitor business to focus on mobility, information communications, and environmental markets. In the NECST business, the company is strengthening development of energy-related products to address decarbonization trends. In particular, Nichicon is expanding rapid charging systems and V2H systems to respond to the EV shift, offering new value propositions.

To build a strong management foundation resilient to external environments, Nichicon provides products and solutions aligned with SDGs and carbon neutrality. Using "Green" (environment) and "Digital" (DX) as key themes, the company is strengthening competitiveness and improving profitability through renewable energy utilization and DX promotion.
