Wafer testing inspects the electrical characteristics of semiconductor chips while still in wafer form before dicing, distinguishing between good and defective chips. Using probes—fine needles that make contact with chips on the wafer—the company applies electrical signals to verify that each chip functions according to design specifications.

TeraProbe contributes to reducing customers' wafer testing costs through program development and probe card design services, support from device evaluation through mass production, and proposals to improve testing efficiency.

Final testing includes functional inspection of packaged devices after assembly and package appearance inspection to verify the absence of external defects in finished products. This ensures product quality.

TeraProbe primarily conducts contract testing for domestic and international semiconductor manufacturers and fabless companies, testing logic, microcontrollers, image sensors, analog, memory, and other semiconductor products. These operations are conducted at the Kyushu facility and TPW.

TeraProbe has obtained IATF 16949 certification for automotive industry quality management systems and is strengthening its contract testing services for automotive semiconductors at both its Japan and Taiwan locations. Through partnerships with PTI and other OSAT companies, the company also provides turnkey services that include post-assembly processes.
