Business Overview
Nakamura Carbide operates four business segments: specialty precision equipment, spinnerets for chemical fibers, D-NexT, and material science. These operations are managed by the company and its consolidated subsidiaries, Japan Nozzle Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Nake Dream Le Trading Co., Ltd.
The specialty precision equipment business designs, manufactures, and sells precision components and tools using hard-brittle materials such as diamond, carbide, and ceramics. Primary products include diamond components and nozzles used in automotive parts and electronic equipment manufacturing. The company also develops microreactor systems for chemical reactions.
The chemical fiber spinneret business is operated by Japan Nozzle Co., Ltd., which designs, manufactures, and sells spinnerets for chemical fibers and nonwoven fabric manufacturing equipment. The company applies advanced micromachining technology, particularly in spinneret manufacturing where fiber quality is determined.
The D-NexT business leverages experience in manufacturing and selling diamond wire for solar power generation. It develops and sells the diamond wire manufacturing equipment "PHX-01" and focuses on developing diamond wire for power semiconductors.
The material science business developed nanotechnology for zeolite through joint research with the University of Tokyo. Using this technology, the company is advancing product development in transparent moisture-absorbing films, semiconductor encapsulants, and antibacterial coating agents. This technology is expected to enable new applications previously unachievable with conventional zeolite.
