Business Overview

Takasago Iron Works operates two main business segments: steel products and real estate. In the steel products business, the company manufactures and sells cold-rolled stainless steel strip, including polished strip, polished specialty strip, and embossed products, as well as stainless steel processed products. In addition to manufacturing and selling these products directly, the company's subsidiary Takasago Steel Co., Ltd. also engages in manufacturing and sales.

Takasago Iron Works outsources certain manufacturing processes for cold-rolled stainless steel strip to Takasago Steel Co., Ltd. Raw materials are purchased from Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. and its parent company Nippon Steel Corporation. Additionally, raw material procurement and sales of certain products are conducted through Mitsui & Co. Steel Ltd., a related company.

The real estate business is operated by Takasago Iron Works and its subsidiary Takatetu Life Co., Ltd. This segment primarily focuses on real estate development, management, and leasing operations, providing a revenue stream separate from the steel products business.

Management Policy

Takasago Iron Works has established a medium-term management plan covering fiscal years 2024 through 2026, targeting sales of 20 billion yen or more, return on sales (ROS) of 8.0% or higher, and a dividend payout ratio of 30.0% or higher. Under this plan, the company aims to provide abundant value to customers and society, with its steel business as the core pillar of its management philosophy.

The company's growth strategy focuses on four key business areas: polished strip steel, embossed steel, press plate, and stainless steel distribution. In the polished strip steel business, the company aims to support Japanese manufacturing by leveraging short lead times, small lot sizes, and high quality. In the embossed steel business, it aims to enhance people's lives through products that combine functionality and aesthetic design.

In the press plate business, the company contributes to the development of the global electronic components industry by leveraging its product capabilities to meet high-end customer needs. In the stainless steel distribution business, it strengthens small lot and short lead time services, enhances regional sales activities, and anticipates customer needs through partnerships with other companies.

Through these businesses, Takasago Iron Works aims to improve profitability and implement stable dividends. In particular, the polished strip steel business seeks to become a company chosen by customers through continued delivery of high-quality products. In the embossed steel business, it strengthens partnerships with partner companies and advances application development.

In the press plate business, the company provides high-performance products leveraging its proprietary heat treatment technology and expands new business transactions. Through these initiatives, Takasago Iron Works will continue to strategically develop its businesses to achieve the management targets outlined in its medium-term plan.
