Daicel operates through five business segments: Medical & Healthcare, Smart, Safety, Materials, and Engineering Plastics. Through these segments, the company provides a diverse range of products and services.

In the Medical & Healthcare segment, Daicel manufactures and sells health supplements and chiral separation columns. Subsidiaries including Chiral Technologies, Inc. handle the sales and technical services for chiral separation columns.

In the Smart segment, Daicel manufactures and sells caprolactone derivatives, epoxy compounds, and high-performance films. Subsidiaries such as Daicel Chemical Co., Ltd. manufacture chemical products, while Daicel Taiwan Co., Ltd. develops and sells optical products.

In the Safety segment, Daicel Safety Systems Co., Ltd. manufactures automotive airbag inflators, which Daicel sells. Other subsidiaries also manufacture and sell inflators and initiators.

In the Materials segment, Daicel manufactures and sells acetate tow and cellulose acetate. Kyodo Acetic Acid Co., Ltd. manufactures acetic acid and supplies it to Daicel. Other subsidiaries sell products internationally.

In the Engineering Plastics segment, subsidiaries including Polyplastics Co., Ltd. manufacture and sell polyacetal resins and liquid crystal polymers. Daicel Miraiz Co., Ltd. sells water-soluble polymers and packaging films.

In other operations, Daicel Membrane Systems Co., Ltd. manufactures and sells water treatment separation membrane modules, and Daicel Logistics Co., Ltd. provides warehousing and transportation services for products and raw materials.

Management Policy

Daicel is advancing its growth strategy based on a sustainable management policy centered on creating sustainable value. Daicel targets net sales of 660 billion yen and operating profit of 82 billion yen by fiscal year 2025, with management indicators including ROE and ROIC. Following its asset-light policy, the company plans to strengthen financial stability while enhancing cash generation capacity to allocate resources toward growth investments and shareholder returns.
