<h3>3. Dividend Policy</h3>
Under our basic capital policy, we aim to improve return on equity (ROE) attributable to parent company shareholders over the medium to long term, while balancing growth investments with enhanced shareholder returns. Regarding profit distribution, we pay dividends based on whichever is larger: a consolidated dividend payout ratio (DPR) of 60% or a dividend on equity (DOE) of 3% attributable to parent company shareholders.
Our basic policy is to distribute surplus dividends twice annually: an interim dividend and a year-end dividend.
The decision-making bodies for these surplus dividends are the shareholders' meeting for the year-end dividend and the board of directors for the interim dividend.
For the current fiscal year, based on the above policy, the annual dividend per share is 102 yen. The year-end dividend per share is 56 yen, calculated by subtracting the interim dividend of 46 yen per share paid in December 2024. In calculating the dividend per share, we exclude treasury shares and shares held by the Stock Acquisition Rights Trust®.

Consolidated Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR) 60% Standard
　60% of basic consolidated earnings per share of 169.67 yen = 102 yen (rounded up to the nearest yen)
Dividend on Equity (DOE) 3% Standard
　3% of equity per share attributable to parent company shareholders of 2,222.34 yen = 67 yen (rounded up to the nearest yen)
Since the consolidated dividend payout ratio (DPR) 60% standard of 102 yen is larger, we set the annual dividend per share at 102 yen.
As a result, the dividend payout ratio (consolidated) for the current fiscal year is 60.0%.
We will effectively utilize retained earnings for capital investments to improve operational efficiency and productivity in the Sugar segment, IT investments, and investments to expand our business scope in the food-related sector within the Food & Wellness segment, thereby working to enhance corporate value.
 
Our articles of incorporation provide that, with September 30 as the record date, the board of directors may resolve to pay interim dividends as provided in Article 454, Paragraph 5 of the Companies Act.
The surplus dividends for the current fiscal year are as follows.
