<h3>3. Dividend Policy</h3>
Our basic policy is to provide stable profit distributions to shareholders, taking into account our business performance for the current fiscal year and future business developments.
For dividends in the current fiscal year, based on the above policy, we have decided to pay an interim dividend of 30 yen per share and a year-end dividend of 10 yen per share, for a total annual dividend of 40 yen per share.
Our Articles of Incorporation provide that "the Board of Directors may resolve to pay interim dividends with September 30 as the record date each year." The decision-making body for surplus dividends is the shareholders' meeting for year-end dividends and the Board of Directors for interim dividends. Accordingly, we operate on the basic principle of paying surplus dividends twice annually through interim and year-end dividends.
Retained earnings will be used to strengthen our corporate foundation so that we can continue to earn customer trust and create and provide value.
Under the Companies Act, which took effect on May 1, 2006, restrictions on the number of annual dividend payments were eliminated. However, we have no plans to change our dividend frequency.
The dividends for the current fiscal year are as follows.
