Business Overview

SBI Insurance Group operates three business segments: property and casualty insurance, life insurance, and small-amount short-term insurance. These businesses are conducted by SBI Insurance Group and nine subsidiaries. Each segment provides different insurance products and services to meet diverse customer needs.

The property and casualty insurance segment is operated by SBI Insurance Co., Ltd. This segment offers auto insurance, cancer insurance, and fire insurance through the internet and insurance agents. The company aims to expand its distribution channels by offering competitive premiums and strengthening alliances with business corporations and regional financial institutions.

The life insurance segment is operated by SBI Life Insurance Co., Ltd. This segment provides online-exclusive term life insurance, disability income insurance, and medical insurance. The company also offers group credit life insurance for mortgage borrowers through financial institutions, addressing a wide range of customer needs.

The small-amount short-term insurance segment comprises seven companies, including SBI Ikiki Small-Amount Short-Term Insurance Co., Ltd. These companies offer distinctive products such as term life insurance, medical insurance, long-term care insurance, comprehensive rental housing insurance, and pet insurance through the internet and insurance agents. Pet insurance, in particular, is provided online to meet diverse customer needs.

SBI Insurance Group began operations in March 2017 as an intermediate holding company overseeing insurance operations within the SBI Group. SBI Holdings Co., Ltd. holds a 59.7% stake in the company and supports the group's overall insurance business.
