Management Policy

Sumitomo Seika has established four priority initiatives in its medium-term management plan for fiscal years 2023 through 2025. First, under "Strengthening Business Structure," the company aims to expand its superabsorbent polymer business by constructing new manufacturing facilities in Singapore. This will enable the company to respond to growing demand in Asian markets and increase its sales share.

Second, under "Realizing Research and Development Results," the company is advancing the development of environmentally conscious new products. In particular, it is focusing on recycling technology for superabsorbent polymers from used disposable diapers. The company is also progressing with development of next-generation semiconductor materials and lithium-ion battery materials, while expanding its research facilities.

Third, under "Thorough Rationalization," the company aims to reduce CO2 emissions through improvements in manufacturing processes. The new Singapore facility is designed with these rationalization measures in mind, and the company is promoting company-wide productivity improvements. The company is also advancing automation of operations through digital technology.

Finally, under "Deepening Sustainability Initiatives," the company is working toward carbon neutrality and advancing technology development that contributes to GHG emission reductions. Sumitomo Seika is implementing concrete measures toward realizing a sustainable society and working to restore stakeholder confidence.
